While reading about the 2025 trends I came across an “Interior Design Style Quiz” (https://www.dsasociety.org/resources/interior-design-style-quiz/). I think quizzes are fun, even if I do not always, or completely, agree with the results. I took the quiz, and I got a “Coastal Chic Style” result. For most of my life I favored Modern and Contemporary styles, however, three years ago I moved to Florida coastal city.
Isn’t it intriguing how our tastes evolve over time, and how our environment influences our style preferences?
Here is summary of the Coastal Chic interior design style. This is not a beach shack; this is a “five star get-a-way. This style homes are usually located by the water or enjoy the feeling of fresh open air, natural light, and plenty of open spaces throughout the home. They are sophisticated yet comfortable; they feel happy but relaxing and have modish tranquility.
Various shades of white are typically the main colors, the accent pieces and accessories have splashes of neutrals, nautical navy, tropical hues, and aquas. These colors have a stylish and chic energy evoking a fresh and relaxed feeling. Typically, floors are wood, whitewashed, or tumbled stone.
A high-quality furniture is usually light to medium woods, ratans, with natural fabrics like cotton and linen. Accent pillows, throws, natural plants, and tranquil coastal artwork complement the beautiful decor. Living in a Costal Chic designed space can truly elevate one’s quality of life.
I must admit that I love the Coastal Chic style, and I already incorporated many of its aspects in my own home, blending it with my other preferred styles.
There are many interior design style quizzes online. Take a few and have fun finding out what your style is. I took a couple more and I will share those results in my next post.
